Chairman of the Board Ferrell Drum began working for Garland Insulating Ltd. after graduating from Harding University in 1971. In 1973 he purchased the company from Paul Drum, who founded the company in 1948. During Ferrell’s leadership, Garland’s revenues have experienced notable growth. Mr. Drum is committed to assure Garland’s customers are served with superior service, science based thermal applications, and treated with the upmost human dignity. He holds a strong passion to assure his team takes thermal performance seriously. Mr. Drum motivates the Garland Team to take on the responsibility of leading the Texas housing market to provide homeowners and occupants comfort, energy conservation, and reduced relational cost. Mr. Drum is active in the insulation contractor industry, he is the current President of Insulation Contractors Association of America and previously sat on the board for Insulate America. He has also served in various roles of service outside of the industry throughout his career. He has served as Chairman of the Skillman Church of Christ Mission Committee, on the Dallas Christian School Board, Hope for Peace Justice Board, Center for Progressive Church Growth board, board of DIFFA Dallas, and various civic roles.
President Hayden A. Drum served as Garland Insulating’s Vice President for several years before his appointment to President. He is responsible for managing the company’s strategic planning, acquisition integration, and various corporate & accounting functions. Mr. Drum has also held the position of Branch Manager at our Houston, TX location. Prior to joining Garland, he held the position of Associate at Rockbrook Capital LLC, an Investment Banking/Advisory Services firm, where he specialized in Mergers & Acquisitions advisory to the Oil Services Industry. Mr. Drum earned a B.B.A with honors, Magna Cum Laude, in Finance & Entrepreneurship from Baylor University. During his tenure at Garland, Mr. Drum has also sat on the Insulation trade industry organization, Insulation Contractors Association of America (ICAA), Spray Polyurethane Foam Committee which develops best practices in health and safety as well as storage, handling, transportation, and application. He also holds several certifications in building science including Building Performance Institutes’ Certified Building Analyst & Envelope Professional.
Executive Vice President of Operations Ahndrea (“Ahni”) Gamboa is our Executive Vice President of Operations and has been with the Company since 2003. Ms. Gamboa joined Garland as a sales team member at the Dallas location and achieved several top achievements within Garland including leading salesperson for multiple years. Prior to joining Garland, Ms. Gamboa worked in sales for Almod Diamonds Ltd, a vertically integrated diamond company. Ms. Gamoba is active in the industry and currently sits on the Coalition Board for the High Performance Insulation Professionals organization. Ms. Gamboa earned a Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Baylor University.
Human Resource Manager Natalie Horst became a member of the Garland Insulating family in April 2013. She has moved up through the organization quickly originally starting as an Administrative Assistant and then moving to the newly created Sales Assistant position. After a short time as Sales Assistant the company made the decision to bring Human Resources in-house and selected Mrs. Horst to fill the HR Manager role in in March 2015. Mrs. Horst previously held various positions in the education and retail industries including office administrator of an elementary school and children’s department manager of a major retailer.
Vice President of Sales Sholana Wells is our Vice President of Sales and has worked and/or consulted with Garland Insulating in various positions for the better part of a decade in discontinuous intervals. In her current position, Ms. Wells is responsible for guiding the sales & estimating teams and creates and implements procedures to maximize customer satisfaction and retention. Ms. Wells joined Garland Insulating after divesting of her closely-held events venue business. Before founding her events venue business she was responsible for managing the Southwest Region sales team of GreenFiber, the largest manufacturer of cellulose fiber insulation, fire, and sound products, which covered Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and New Mexico. She held that position for over twelve years. Ms. Wells began her career working as a salesperson for Garland Insulating in the Dallas market in the early nineties. Ms. Wells is an active member in the Insulation Contractors Association of America, a member of the National Home Builders Association and holds several technical certifications in the insulation and contracting fields.
Bryan Operations Manager Gilbert Ramirez has been with Thermo Insulation, a division of Garland Insulating, since 1981 after graduating from Bryan High School. Mr. Ramirez has held almost every position with the company and is currently Operations Manager. Thermo Insulation was established over 50 years ago in the Brazos Valley area and has thrived under Mr. Ramirez’s direction. Garland Insulating purchased Thermo Insulation in 2014.
Houston Operations Manager Reyes Garcia began with Garland Insulating as an air sealing technician in 2005. During his tenure at Garland he has progressively taken on more responsibility and is currently the Houston Operations Manager overseeing both production and office functions. He has also held the Lead Superintendent and Foam Division Manager roles. Prior to joining Garland Insulating, Mr. Garcia worked for Builder Services Group in Houston, TX. Mr. Garcia is OSHA 10 Hour certified.
Austin Operations Manager Jonathan Heathington joined our team as a Salesperson in the Dallas location in 2013. In 2014, Mr. Heathington moved to Liberty Hill, TX to setup our Austin location and has been integral in its growth to be one of the top five insulation contractors in Austin in only a few short years. Prior to joining Garland, Mr. Heathington worked as an independent contractor for a spray foam contractor that specialized in closed cell metal building insulation and has more than 15 years of construction experience. Mr. Heathington is OSHA 10 Hour certified.
